A Group with a Common Passion

Hollybush Rifle Club was founded in 1972 after a group of like-minded individuals decided to turn their shared interests into one of Essex's premiere shooting sites.  Since then we continue to grow both as a community and what we offer to our members.  When you decide to join us, you too will gain access to various events and, importantly, to a group of like-minded individuals who are just as passionate as you are.​​We are always ready to welcome new members to the club, whether experienced shots or complete beginners.  Unlike most sports, competition shooting classes are usually split by ability alone regardless of age or gender, and few disabilities will prevent you from competing.  It is also relatively inexpensive, with second hand equipment regularly becoming available.  For beginners, the club can provide all of the training and equipment that you will need to start shooting and enter a variety of competitions.  This will give you a good opportunity to try some different discipline's and equipment before you decide to buy anything.  There is an obvious need for anyone wishing to take up the sport to be strong enough to handle the rifle or pistol you will use.  Members range form 8 years old and above, however there are air pistols and rifles made specifically for juniors. The only way to be sure is to come and give it a go. The sport requires discipline and commitment to compete at any level and most of us in the club have a lot of fun competing with each other.  All beginners are expected to complete a minimum  probationary period, after which you can apply to the club committee for annual membership.  For more details on how to get started you can contact us using the information on the Contacts Page. ​
